Indications/Uses

Adjunct to diet & exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients w/ type 2 DM as monotherapy or combination therapy w/ metformin, sulphonylurea + metformin or insulin w/ or w/o metformin.

Dosage/Direction for Use

5 mg once daily.

Overdosage

Administration

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any dipeptidylpeptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor.

Special Precautions

Not for use in patients w/ type 2 diabetes or the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. Increased incidence of hypoglycaemia w/ sulphonylurea &/or insulin; may consider dose reduction of sulphonylurea or insulin. Discontinue if pancreatitis is suspected. Elderly (>80 yr).
